The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has introduced a new FinTech Certificate Programme for early-career professionals and students through its digital learning initiative, IIMBx.

The Government of Karnataka backs the online course as a component of the Skilling and Training initiative within the Centre of Excellence in Fintech, established by the Department of Electronics, IT, and Biotechnology.

The digital education program at IIMB is managed by the IIMBx Digital Learning Foundation (IIMBx DLF), a company that operates under IIMB. The initiative seeks to enhance understanding of both basic and complex elements of the fintech ecosystem.

A statement from the institute indicates that the introduction of the course occurs during a period of swift adoption of financial technologies, resulting in increased financial innovation and wider access to services. The organizers intend to tailor the program's material to industry requirements, allowing participants to seek positions throughout the fintech industry.

The initiative will be implemented in two stages. The initial stage is a six-month Foundation Certificate, succeeded by a three-month Advanced Certificate for individuals who finish the first phase. Applications are open and will end on September 14. Applicants can sign in and learn more on the official IIMBx site at iimbx.iimb.ac.in/fintech/.

The program is funded by a government grant, allowing it to be provided at a reduced cost. IIMBx will provide the course using a combined asynchronous approach. Course materials will be released in stages, allowing ample time for completion prior to the availability of the next batch.
