Maharashtra CET Admission Deadline Revised to September 14

Maharashtra CET Cell has extended the 2026-27 admission cut-off to September 14. Candidates seeking institute-level or vacant seats must complete registration, document verification, merit-based selection and fee formalities within the revised deadline.

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has revised the final deadline for admissions for the 2026-27 academic year, extending the cut-off date to September 14, 2026. The extension provides candidates additional time to complete institute-level admission formalities following the conclusion of the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) rounds.

The revised schedule applies to admissions being conducted through the Maharashtra CET Cell and requires participating institutes to complete the remaining admission activities within the extended timeline. Candidates seeking seats against institute-level or vacant seats are required to follow the procedures specified by the respective course admission portal and institute.

Under the revised process, colleges and institutes are required to display available vacant seats, invite applications from eligible registered candidates and prepare merit lists before completing admissions in accordance with government admission rules. The institute-level admission window has been aligned with the September 14 cut-off for the relevant technical education courses.

The CET Cell has also directed institutions to ensure transparency and merit-based selection during admissions conducted after the CAP rounds. Colleges are required to follow prescribed admission rules while filling seats that remain vacant after the centralised counselling process. The move is intended to provide eligible candidates with a final opportunity to secure admission against available seats.

Candidates participating in the process must ensure that their registration details, academic credentials and other required documents are complete and accurate. Depending on the course and admission category, applicants may also need to complete preference submission, document verification, seat acceptance and fee payment within the specified schedule.

The CET Cell has published separate admission portals and schedules for different programmes under technical and higher education departments. Candidates have been advised to rely on the respective course portal for programme-specific deadlines, eligibility conditions, document requirements and institute-level procedures rather than assuming that a common schedule applies to every CET course.

The revised deadline comes after the completion of multiple CAP rounds across Maharashtra. For engineering admissions, the official schedule shows institute-level admission activity continuing through September 14, while the State CET Cell has issued instructions for institutions handling vacant seats after CAP.

With the extended deadline, students who have not yet secured admission but remain eligible for institute-level vacancies have additional time to approach participating colleges and complete the required formalities. Institutes, meanwhile, must complete merit-based admissions and update candidate records within the prescribed deadline.
