The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has opened registrations for its Summer Internship Programme 2026, offering students a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in infrastructure development.

The program allows users to obtain practical knowledge about actual highway construction work which includes all stages from project planning through execution until infrastructure development reaches completion.

Interns who are chosen for this program will work at NHAI headquarters and NHAI field offices throughout the nation while receiving mentorship from senior staff members and operational teams.

The internship will run for duration of two months, during which participants will actively engage in project-based learning and on-site activities.

The program offers students an attractive opportunity because it provides them with three benefits which include a monthly salary of ₹20,000 and a certificate after completing their work.

The programme is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students from a wide range of disciplines, including civil engineering, computer science, information technology, electronics, data science, law, management, commerce, and mass communication.

Civil engineering students will focus their work on highway design and traffic planning and construction supervision. Candidates from other fields will handle analytics work and IT system management and toll operations and legal responsibilities and project management tasks.

The multidisciplinary method enables students from different academic disciplines to participate while acquiring valuable experience in industry settings.

The official internship portal accepts applications from interested candidates until the deadline which is set for April 15 2026.
