MAT is one of India’s top management entrance examinations at a national scale, and it is held four times a year, kind of like it gives people more tries. The score is accepted by several hundred MBA and PGDM institutes across the country, for getting admission into postgraduate management programmes. Applicants who have already finished a bachelor’s degree, or are studying in the last year of graduation, are allowed to apply. This is still subject to whatever admission criteria the individual institutions set for their own process.
The exam is made up of 150 multiple choice items spread evenly across five sections, Language Comprehension, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, and Economic and Business Environment. In total they need to finish everything within 120 minutes , and each section checks a slightly different set of managerial know how plus analytical ability.
Applicants can register online by filling in their personal and academic info, uploading the needed documents, and paying the application fee that has been prescribed. If someone chooses the PBT and the CBT options together, they can get a concessional combined registration fee, which is lower than if they applied separately for each mode.
With registrations now underway, MBA aspirants are being asked to take a look at the eligibility criteria, the examination schedule, and the participating institutions before submitting their applications. The MAT September 2026 session is giving candidates one more shot to gain admission into well regarded management institutes and really move their careers forward in business and management.
