UP Scholarship 2026: Who Can Apply, How to Check Status

• UP Scholarship supports students from economically weaker sections across pre-matric and post-matric education levels in Uttar Pradesh.

The UP Scholarship Programme which the Uttar Pradesh government established provides financial aid to students from low-income families who need assistance to complete their studies.

The scheme offers financial support to students who belong to General and Other Backward Classes and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and minority communities.

The education program provides coverage for both pre-matric educational programs which include Classes 9 to 10 and post-matric educational programs which include Classes 11 and above to students who need financial assistance to continue their studies.

Applicants must fulfill specific requirements which include presenting their Aadhaar card and income certificate and domicile certificate and bank details linked with Aadhaar and their previous academic mark sheets and proof of admission and a passport-size photograph.

The application process for the 2025–2026 academic sessions was conducted online through the official portal. The registration period together with online application process started on July 10 2025 and ended on January 14 2026 while applicants had until January 21 2026 to submit their final application printouts to institutions.

The correction window between February 10 and February 13 2026 allowed applicants to fix any errors in their forms before the final verification process began. The scholarship funds will be transferred to student’s bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) after the verification process is complete.

Students who applied for the scheme can easily check their application status online. The process requires them to visit scholarship.up.gov.in official website and click on "Status" after which they need to select academic year 2025–2026 and provide their registration number together with their date of birth.

The current status of the application becomes visible on the portal after the user submits their information. The system shows applicants three different status messages which include "Pending Verification" and "Approved/Disbursed" and "Rejected."

The system identifies pending verification status when document examination remains unfinished while approved or disbursed status confirms that the scholarship has been approved and funds will soon enter the student's account.

The system rejects applications when applicants provide incorrect information or fail to submit required documents or do not fulfill the necessary eligibility requirements.
