In a significant effort to increase tech-related job opportunities in the Northeast, the Arunachal Pradesh government has collaborated with IIT Delhi to introduce a complimentary, intensive artificial intelligence (AI) training program for college students and fresh graduates.

The initiative, entirely funded by the government, is set to commence in the second week of January in Itanagar. Structured as a five- to six-week in-person course, it will combine traditional instruction with practical project creation. Every group will participate in daily two-hour sessions, guaranteeing thorough immersion in fundamental AI skills.

Officials state that the curriculum will cover various essential topics, such as AI and machine learning basics, data analysis and visualization, Python-focused AI project creation, as well as resume writing and job readiness preparation. The objective is to assist participants in creating practical, industry-relevant projects, equipping them for new positions in AI-focused fields.

The programme is accepting registrations at this time, and candidates need to submit their forms by January 4 to be eligible for the initial group. The project is being implemented through a collaboration of the state’s Information Technology Department and IIT Delhi’s Technology Innovation Hub, guaranteeing access to top-notch learning materials and professional guidance.

A state government official emphasised the programme’s core objective, saying, “The aim is to ensure that talented youth from Arunachal Pradesh have direct access to high-quality AI training without financial barriers. With the demand for AI talent rising across industries, this initiative will open doors for young learners and strengthen the region’s standing in the digital economy.”

The initiative represents one of the state's most bold efforts to create a skilled workforce ready to support India’s swiftly growing AI landscape.
