The Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi) introduced a one-year Post Graduate Diploma Program in Interaction Design and User Experience (UX), which aims to train professionals in creating easy-to-use, user-oriented digital experiences. The program, a collaboration with TimesPro, is delivered online via a Direct-to-Device (D2D) mode with an optional three-day campus immersion.
It covers design principles, user research, interaction design methods, and new technologies such as AR/VR, wearable tech, and generative AI. Prof. Ranjan Bose from IIIT-Delhi and Sridhar Nagarajachar from TimesPro are leading the program, which features six core modules and a capstone project. It covers over 330 hours of learning with a good mix of theory and practice. The program directors, Pragma Kar and Richa Gupta, who are assistant professors in Human-Centred Design, spoke about its importance. Kar said, “Interaction Design and UX are the core of modern life.
The program covers not only the basics of design, human factors, but also the latest topics such as tangible interfaces and AI-driven design.” Gupta complemented, “An expert faculty consisting of academics and industry professionals will be the main source for conceptual and applied learning, thus the graduates will be immediately employable.”

The program is a stepping-stone for the learners to acquire the necessary skills for the fields of UX/UI design, interactive media, healthcare, e-commerce, digital marketing, and smart wearables, among others.
TimesPro will be providing the means and avenues for career growth as an added benefit. Bose remarked, “Through this partnership, the learners will be enabled to come up with solutions to design challenges that not only are complex but also enhance user experiences.” Nagarajachar pointed out, “The blend of IIIT-Delhi’ s academic rigor with TimesPro's pedagogy is a guarantee of quality education for the creation of humane, data-driven digital solutions.”
The first cohort is about to take off shortly, and the diploma will be awarded by IIIT-Delhi. This move is in line with the rising UX design market in India, which is expected to grow to $2 billion by 2030, and is seen as a solution to the shortage of skilled professionals in human-computer interaction.
