IITs Launch New Programmes to Train Future Tech Leaders

Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) nationwide are launching modern courses in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science, Machine Learning, and related disciplines to meet the increasing need for qualified experts. These programs are available in full-time, diploma, and certificate formats and aim to provide students with the most current industry-relevant skills.

IIT Madras provides a four-year online BS program in Data Science and Applications, featuring in-person quizzes and examinations conducted throughout India and internationally. Students have the option to leave the program at various points, obtaining a Foundation Certificate, Diploma(s), or BSc/BS Degrees depending on their level of completion. The syllabus includes Mathematics, Statistics, Python programming, English, Machine Learning, Business Data Management, and a range of Data Science tools.

IIT Delhi’s MTech program in Machine Intelligence and Data Science (MINDS), initiated in July 2022, offers specialized education in AI and Data Science. The program comprises advanced courses in deep learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and essential mathematical principles of AI technologies.

IIT Roorkee provides a program centered on Cybersecurity, Ethical Hacking, and Applied AI. Essential modules comprise Cybersecurity Fundamentals, Vulnerability Evaluation, Network Protection, Secure Programming, and AI-Powered Cyber Defense.

Candidates should pass a qualifying exam and then attend counselling for enrollment. Graduates will acquire skills in ethical hacking, threat identification, and AI-driven security measures. This program combines AI with new technologies such as IoT, Blockchain, 6G, AR/VR, and Digital Twins.

Candidates are required to possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology and must have a minimum of two years of professional experience. The program emphasizes foundational AI principles and leadership abilities for the Future Tech age. Through these initiatives, IITs are further solidifying India’s role as a center for innovation and expertise in AI and advanced technologies.
