Tripura Approves Ayurveda, Homeopathy Colleges, Stipend Up

  • Tripura government approves new Ayurveda and Homeopathy colleges, each with 60 student seats.
  • Hosteller stipend increased to ₹100 per day to support students living in college accommodation.
  • The move aims to promote traditional medicine education and improve healthcare access in Tripura.

The Tripura government has approved plans to build new Ayurveda and Homeopathy colleges throughout the state which will enhance traditional medicine education and healthcare training programs.

The colleges will accept 60 students each which will create more opportunities for students who want to study alternative medicine in healthcare programs.

The state has made this decision to support Ayurveda and Homeopathy as important medical education fields which match India’s mission to promote traditional healthcare systems.

The government approved new college establishments because it wanted to provide financial assistance to students who live in college dorms.

The new policy will increase daily hosteller stipends to ₹100, which will help students cope with their academic expenses. The stipend increase will help students from low-income families who need to stay in dorms during their studies to pay for their college education.

The initiative is expected to encourage more students to opt for traditional medicine courses without financial hindrance.

The authorities announced their decision because they observed a growing public interest in Ayurveda and Homeopathy which people use to maintain health and treat medical conditions.

The establishment of educational institutions for these disciplines will create a stronger workforce that possesses knowledge about holistic healthcare practices.

The colleges will provide local communities with better access to traditional medicine education while they simultaneously enhance healthcare services throughout both rural and urban regions.

The government's decision supports national initiatives which aim to enhance Ayush (Ayurveda Yoga Naturopathy Unani Siddha and Homeopathy) educational programs and infrastructure throughout India.

Tripura aims to increase student capacity and financial assistance to develop skilled practitioners who will serve their communities while protecting India's traditional health sciences heritage.
