PwC Academy Opens Admissions for Young Employable Scholar Programme

PwC Academy, the skills and talent development arm of PwC Middle East, has launched admissions for the sixth edition of its highly successful Young Employable Scholar (YES) Programme. With 80% of graduates obtaining roles in top companies, this life-changing higher education route merges the esteemed ACCA (the Association of Chartered Accountants) qualification with the UAE VAT Compliance Diploma and AI instruction. This two-and-a-half-year course provides driven students with the essential skills required to succeed in a career in accounting and finance.

The YES Programme symbolizes a broader change in outlook and anticipation regarding higher education. A recent study by the World Economic Forum (WEF) and PwC revealed that only about 50% of the working populations in the surveyed countries hold jobs that align with their formal education level, underscoring the necessity for a greater emphasis on skills pertinent to employment.

The program offers a mix of certifications, hands-on training, and interaction with industry professionals from a Big Four company, effectively readying students for the jobs they will undertake. This contemporary method is quickly being acknowledged by ambitious students aiming for top careers in accounting or finance while avoiding conventional higher education obstacles.

This solution, designed by PwC experts, is both cost- and time-efficient for higher education, focusing on the skills that will help accountants succeed in the future. This expedited schedule allows graduates to begin earning and progressing in their careers while their classmates are still in school.

The YES Programme illustrates a broader change in the demands for professional qualifications. For instance, a recent study in the US by the specialized research platform Intelligent revealed that 45% of the companies surveyed are shifting away from conventional degree requirements towards skills-based hiring.

The YES programme is open to exceptional high school graduates with strong academic performance in Mathematics and English who demonstrate leadership potential and commitment to a career in accounting or finance.
