Concordia Texas offers full-tuition aid to high-need local students
Concordia University Texas created the Concordia Texas Promise, a scholarship program for greater access to higher education for students of significant financial need. Beginning in Fall 2025, remaining tuition expenses will be covered by the program for all other eligible traditional and transfer undergraduate students in Travis, Williamson, and Hays counties after a combination of federal, state, and institutional aid has been applied.
Dr. Kristi Kirk, President and CEO of Concordia University Texas said, "We believe that financial barriers should not stand in the way of a student’s ability to achieve their academic and career goals. The Concordia Texas Promise is an investment in the potential of our community’s students and in the future of Central Texas."
This shows the alignment of Concordia Texas with the much-needed Christ-centered, high-quality education that could be accessible and affordable to students within Central Texas. Available to U.S. citizens that are Texas residents who fulfill certain financial and academic standards, the scholarship program considers applicants who have either a Student Aid Index that is between -1500 and 3000, inclusive of those with a negative index as indicated as per FAFSA results, and at a minimum, an unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Scholarships can go up to 25 a year depending on funding and applicant qualifications for the program. These scholarships are renewable depending on achievement and continued financial need of the recipient each year after the first. Students must participate in either a campus visit or official admissions event; enroll full-time taking at least 12 credit hours each semester.
Applications for the Fall 2025 semester are due by June 1, 2025, while Spring 2026 applications are due by November 1, 2025.
