DU, IIT Kanpur Partner to Boost Student, Faculty Skills

  • Delhi University and IIT Kanpur collaborate under EICTA to boost academics.
  • Faculty and students are required to enroll in a minimum of two consortium courses.
  • EICTA offers training in AI, ML, cybersecurity, cloud, and sustainability.

The University of Delhi and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur have collaborated to facilitate numerous academic and research projects. The Foundation for Advanced Continuing Education and Training (IFACET) at IITK has agreed with the university as part of the Electronics and ICT Academies (EICTA) Consortium initiative.

DU registrar Vikas Gupta stated that the collaboration intends to enhance the academic programs provided and assist the initiatives of both the university and the consortium. The academy, made up of 14 institutions, will support the skill development of both faculty and students from colleges connected with the university as part of the initiative.

The centers are set up at premier institutions such as IITs, National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), and National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT).

In this partnership, the main university will select and propose faculty from its departments and associated colleges, urging them to enroll in at least two online courses each year provided by the consortium. Moreover, a student training initiative will be provided where students from various departments and associated colleges will be motivated to register for a minimum of two online courses presented by the 14-member consortium each year.
