The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has announced the launch of its Yuva Vigyani Karyakram (YUVIKA) 2026 programme, an initiative designed to foster interest in space science and technology among young students.
The YUVIKA program enables Class 9 students to acquire practical space research skills while developing their knowledge of the field through real-world research experience.
The program will operate for two weeks, which provides students with a special chance to acquire knowledge from scientists and experts who work in their field.
Only eligible candidates can apply by being present in Class 9 with at least 70% passing grades in their previous exam. This camp program is designed for students interested in astrophysics and planetary sciences.
YUVIKA 2026 application forms are available until April 15 of the same year. To apply, fill out an application via this link and submit along with your Grade point average (GPA) from the previous semester school report cards.

All qualifying participants will be selected by academic GPA based on their application and interest towards astronomy/astrophysics via interview process conducted by astronomers, and also through shortlisting of participating schools.
All qualified students will receive a notice of inclusion and an invitation to attend camp at least 2 weeks after the end of summer break. Certain participants will also have the opportunity to go through a pre-trial environmental simulation in the Houston area prior to attending the YUVIKA 2026 camp.
The YUVIKA programme operates as a component of ISRO's continuous mission to create scientific and engineering experts through their educational initiatives.
The initiative provides students with an opportunity to meet ISRO scientists and tour space research facilities while engaging in hands-on activities. The programme provides a valuable educational experience to young individuals who want to work in aerospace engineering and related professions.
