Samsung, the foremost consumer electronics brand in India, in collaboration with the United Nations Global Compact Network India (UN GCNI), unveiled ‘DigiArivu - Empowering Students Through Tech’, an educational initiative designed to enhance digital and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education in Tamil Nadu.
With this initiative, Samsung will enhance school facilities, facilitate STEM education and digital education, prepare educators, and promote comprehensive student growth in 10 government schools within Kancheepuram and Ranipet districts of Tamil Nadu - impacting more than 3,000 students. As a component of DigiArivu, Samsung will implement a multi-faceted, community-focused approach to change the educational landscape in tier-2 and tier-3 regions.
The program has been created using UN GCNI’s research with state-run schools, insights from Samsung workers at the Sriperumbudur manufacturing facility, and feedback from local community members to ensure that interventions meet actual needs on the ground.

The main focus areas involve enhancing the current learning environment in schools using Building as Learning Aid (BaLA) designs and subsequently supplying tools to encourage digital learning among students. The program will implement activity-centered learning on STEM topics along with training sessions for teachers. Samsung will additionally supply sports equipment and establish libraries featuring Tamil, English, and competitive exam materials. It will provide career advice to Class 12 students, host a series of education expert speakers, and conduct health awareness camps for schoolchildren.
The program includes the celebration of significant days and events at schools in collaboration with community members. Alongside DigiArivu, Samsung is enhancing youth training in Tamil Nadu via the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) initiative. This year, under SIC, Samsung is educating 5,000 students in Tamil Nadu in sought-after future-tech fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Big Data, and Coding & Programming.
