The students of this institution are consistently placed in reputed companies such as TCS, Infosys, and Hyundai Motors, created a brand name SRKR with 100 percent placements. This year 472 students have already been placed in six major companies namely TCS, NTT Data, Tech Mahindra, Polaris, Aviso and I-Gate, while many more companies are in the pipeline, waiting for their turn to visit the campus to hire talented graduates. SRKR Engineering College, a 35 year old technical institution from Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh, has never let the location restrict the students from grasping all the opportunities that are presented to them. "During these years of dedicated service in the field of engineering education to the society, we have helped more than 65,000 families to empower economically and have produced more than 30,000 world class technological work force to the world," claims Dr. G. P. Saradhi Varma, Principal, SRKR Engineering College.
To bridge the gap between industry and academia, the institute's Finishing school plays aninstrumental role. The cell aims at training the students towards industry requirements and provides exposure by making students work on different projects, personality development programs and technological skills to convert the student to industry ready professionals. With a clear idea of the current employment status of the industry and what is required, they provide trainings such as verbal and communication skills, quantitative aptitude and logical reasoning skills, soft skills, group discussions and mock interviews. The institute has also collaborated with big names for collaborative programs, which is very beneficial for the students. The campus connect program in collaboration with Infosys, the industry-academia interaction program with HCL and HP University Relationship program are few among the many industrial MoUs they maintain. "Despite possessing exceptional theoretical knowledge, engineering students are lacking in the field of practical application of the engineering know-how. Hence, we are creating industrial and academic collaborations to prepare students for their future in the industry," reveals Dr. Varma.
Capable of training students as sound professionals to cater to the needs of the society in the fields of production and service sectors, SRKR Engineering College is an engineer's foundation hub with six B.Tech, six M.Tech, MCA and five PhD programs. "One of the best practices is Innovation center, which motivate students to work on inter-disciplinary projects. Passion and Innovation are the driving force for this center. The faculty members from different department involves in this center and makes the students to work on different projects involving different disciplines of engineering," says Dr. Varma.
The college promotes a research culture among faculty members and students through consultancy and collaboration. Collaborative research work going on with Netherlands, American and Australian Universities. The faculty members are actively involved in research activities and about 1025 papers were published during last four years in various National and International journals. With constant encouragement from the college management, faculties from various departments had bought projects from various national government agencies such as UGC, AICTE and DST for the past four years. Currently the departments of Civil Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering are recognized as Research Centers by the Andhra University. "faculty members are competent to provide a wide variety of consultancy services in almost every discipline, which include Pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, detailed project reports, design of systems/components/processes and development of software for offline and online applications. Today, with an intake of 1569 students and a faculty pool that carries 20 years of average teaching experience to mould them, SRKR Engineering College is striving towards becoming a world-class technical institution with cutting-edge research capacity. "Good research facilities and modern equipment are available in the Research Centers that are providing excellent research opportunities for the students to take up projects. As a part of social responsibility students are motivated towards contributions to the society. The final year students every year takes up some of the eco-friendly issues and designs projects which are unique in the world. Their activities were recorded in LIMCA Book of Records, Wonder Book of Records and Unique World Records four times. However, we want to establish more infrastructural facilities for both consultancy and research purposes. In the coming years, we would be converting this institute as deemed university that propels research and innovation, develops transformative technologies and cultivates solutions to advance society," concludes Dr. Varma.
