Founded in 2002 by Irinjalakuda Diocesan Educational Trust, Sahrdaya promotes academic excellence through expert faculties, excellent infrastructure, absolute discipline and sound practical exposure.
The placement cell of the institute provides a platform for the Industry-Academia Interactions to build their bright future. Above 80 percent students are being placed every year from the institute. Our students have been recruited by various reputed multinational organizations in India and abroad. This placement performance is due to the rigorous pre- placement training every student of the institute goes through which boosts their confidence and this makes them employment ready. Competencies such as numerical, computational, entrepreneurial, time management skills, group discussion and behavior in multi-cultural workplace are prominent among the ones fostered in the students. The institute conducts industry sponsored FDPs, national and international conferences, discussions, workshops, seminars in the campus in collaborations with various organizations and institutes such as Infosys, Accenture, TCS, Microsoft, Biozeen, TBI and many more. The institute is conferred as Infosys Campus Connect Advanced College. Other industry Alliances include Accenture – Sahrdaya Innovation lab, Silver Partner of Keane, Wipro Mission 10X Training the Trainer, Microsoft IT Academy Member, TCS-ion Partnership to name a few.
Sahrdaya College of Engineering and Technology is one of the most sought after colleges in Kerala for engineering education and has been keen on fundamental engineering research right from the beginning. In order to inculcate the research interest in both the students and faculties, Sahrdaya insists students to take up project works funded by the Kerala State Council of Science Technology and Environment and many other institutes and government funded projects throughout their curriculum. Around hundreds of institute's Alumni members are doing their Post Graduate and Doctorate Courses in their core engineering in reputed Indian Universities and U.K, U.S.A and Australian Universities. Both the students and faculty members are encouraged to publish research papers in various national and international journals. Many of the projects have been recognized both at the national and international level competitions. The institution sees research as a transition of a scholar from an advanced stage of scholarship to invention and application.
With this end in view Sahrdaya promotes inventive attributes and attention to detail in every academic pursuit. Research seminars, discussion paper series, research oriented departmental publications, invited talks by leading researchers and industry inventive brains, increasing amount of faculty consultancy and the programs and procedures of the Research Promotion Center. National and international seminars are conducted by various departments regularly with the complete support of the faculty. The institution is rich in its research resources with a multi-thousand volume library and piles of journals which provides a researcher inexhaustible reservoirs of information. These storehouses of reference material are enough impetus for a student to think of research and engage in it. "We have a handful of highly qualified faculties in every department with national and international research experience who takes lead in the research aspect of the college," claims Fr. The institute has faculty strength of 142 having expertise in their respected areas of interest out of which 25 are doctorate holders and more than 15 are undergoing their PhDs. They form the building blocks of the institutes learning process and elevate the knowledge quotient of Sahrdaya.
An interesting feature of the institute is that the various schools of engineering form student associations and conduct projects of their own which is managed solely by the students. The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Center (IEDC) and Startup Boot camp of Sahrdaya encourage young entrepreneurs and innovators with their ideas, incubate and fund their products establishing them into professionals. The institute annually awards the best student and teacher each with diamond ring and diamond jewellery respectively as a token of appreciation for their outstanding performance. Some of the prominent achievements of the institute include Academic Excellence Award for the Topper - I Engineering College in the University Consistently for five years, set up of Sahrdaya - Accenture Innovation Lab and Knowledge & Research Center.
