In the given level of economic development and globalization, law as a profession is not limited to practicing criminal or civil litigation. Now, the opportunities available for law graduates are phenomenal and many aspirants choose five-year BA LLB program after class 12 to have an early start in their legal career. Located in Hyderabad, The ICFAI Law School was established in the year 2010 to impart five-year campus based integrated BBA LLB (Hons) program with unique and dynamic curriculum. A constituent unit of the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, The ICFAI Law School works with an objective to carve-out the new generation lawyers to meet the challenges of the new millennium.
"We have an edge over many renowned law colleges of the country in the areas of practical training, curriculum design, faculty competence, infrastructure facilities, internships, clinical courses and wide range of electives. The program is designed to sharpen the professional skill sets of the law students and translate them into well read and competent legal professionals," says Dr. A. V. Narsimha Rao, Dean, ICFAI Law School. The institute acts as a stimulator and catalyst in shaping up the future of its students. It provides opportunities to the students to interact with the judicial officers and judges through court visits, guest lectures and interactive sessions.

"We provide compulsory moot court participation for the students in addition to the focus on other clinical subjects such as drafting and conveyance, training in the areas of client counselling, mediation, negotiation and arbitration skills. Practical classes in these areas will help the students to understand the process and professionalism associated with each one of the above skill sets," explains Dr. Narsimha Rao. More than 90 percent of the faculty members of the ICFAI Law School are PhD holders, in addition to the NET and the SLET qualifications. They act as mentors and help the students in their academic and non-academic areas. "The faculty members help the students in writing the cases and participating in the academic competitions. Here, each faculty member is a mentor, teacher, friend, guide and philosopher to the students," adds Dr. Narsimha Rao.
The ICFAI Law School has great networking with advocate community, law firms and judicial officers of various courts. The advocates interact with the students at different intervals, either directly or through the internship programs. The Law school also arranges orientation programs and training programs to the young advocates every year wherein the judges of the High Court and Senior Advocates of the Courts will be giving insights on many areas of the law and students interact during the training program with the judiciary and senior advocates. These activities help the students to clinch internships and the success story of the leading advocates inspires and motivates the students.
"We consider placements as one of the important elements of the legal education and strive to provide 100 percent placement the assistance to the students who intend to go for employment," claims Dr. Narsimha Rao. The institute helps and grooms the students in planning their career, equip them for interviews with soft skills training, group discussions, refreshing the fundamentals of law by conducting refresher classes, organizes mock interviews, acts as a negotiator on behalf of the students for compensation packages and provides career guidance from the day of their joining.
"Our students usually choose four different routes in the final year and the Law School Career Guidance Cell works closely with every student to fulfil their career objectives," says Dr. Narsimha Rao. The faculty members of the Law School guide the students to select the right university in India and abroad for pursuing their higher studies. For the students who are willing takes up legal practice as a profession, the Law School helps them by arranging the seniors and well-known advocates as mentors for their legal practice. For the students who want to join litigation firms and companies, the Placement Cell arranges interviews and helps them with the necessary skill sets required to be selected. The students interested to start the LPO are assisted to work with LPOs for a few years and the necessary support is extended for a certain period of research incubation.
"Though, only two batches of students have been graduated from our institute till date, we have produced excellent results in placements. Last year's highest package was Rs. 8.00 LPA and an alumnus has received a scholarship of Rs. 40 Lakhs and got admission in Kings College, UK, which includes free accommodation and fee waiver," shares Dr. Narsimha Rao. Today, the ICFAI Law School is proactive and their dynamic curriculum is modified in accordance with the industry or professional requirements. As a teaching and research institute, the Law School publishes a research journal with the title 'Law Review' and the student themselves edit and publishes an online journal with the title 'The Students.' "We are moving towards the Choice Based Credit System with various combinations of subjects," concludes Dr. Narsimha Rao.

With 15 years of teaching and research experience in addition to the industry experience of 20 years, he has written more than 50 research articles published in National and International Journals. He is specialized in Corporate Law, IPR, Environment law, Banking and Insurance laws.
