Started in the year 2006, RRCE was set up with a visionto provide quality education at affordable pricesto the rural population. The institute faced challenges to attract the quality human resources both in terms of students and faculties due to its geographic location. "We were unable to get experts and talented faculty members basically in first year and also insubsequent years, considerably the situation improved due to the availability of good infrastructure and facilities," says S. Vijayanand, Executive Director, Raja Rajeswari College of Engineering. The institute has recorded notable placement figures inthe past few years. This year 164 out of 207 students have already been placed with prominent recruiters such as Messers Josiah Technologies, Quinnox Consultancy Services and UNISYS Global Services.The reason of such successful placement records is through theinstitute's various tie-ups, MoUs and Industry collaborations with organizations which provide ample opportunities to the internal stakeholders to enhance the knowledge, exchanging mutual facilities like internship, FDPs, conferences, workshops, Imparting training, project work for student, technical symposiums and research programs.Industries always want a prospective employee to be ready from day one, thus saving crucial resources and time involved in training new candidates. The institute takes regular industry feedback concerning corporate expectations and tries to incorporate the same in personality and other mentoring programs bridging the gap between students skill set and industry expectations.

A number of projects from VGST, AICTE, KSCST,DST, ISRO and many seminar grants have been worked upon by students of the institute. The teachers and students are encouraged for research through allocation of research seed moneyfor each department and also take up projects by themselves. As RRCE believes in wholesome education, thereby a lot of emphasis is on encouraging faculty to undertake research. These faculties in turn encourage students to take up and involve in live projects which gives the students value addition.The faculty members participate in various National/International conferences and acquire latest technical knowhow.These are conducted frequently to promote and avail opportunities like paper presentations and technical updation in the learning process.Many paper presentation and publications in National and International seminars on various subjects such as 'Fault Detection and correction in DC Motors using GSM technology', 'Redundancy management of Multipath Secure routing for Intrusion Tolerance in Heterogeneous WSN', 'Data Hiding in Cloud Computing' and many more has been produced by the students of RRCE.
