About the Institute:
When the Bangalore based M.S. Educational Trust started M.S. Engineering College in 2002. Spread over an area of 25 acres, the college provides relevant academic and practical knowledge for a holistic learning that students require. All the programs offered by M.S. Engineering College have been approved by the AICTE.
Industry Institute Partnership:
M.S. Engineering College which has been providing quality education to its students for the last 14 years has gained the ability to understand the need to collaborate with the industry. Student internships, projects grants, employment opportunities, collaborative research, commercialization of products, joint patent rights and expert lectures are the major benefits and initiatives that M.S. Engineering College has been able to achieve under industry-institute relations.
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell at the institute has enabled students to closely interact with industries for commercialization of their project ideas. Utilizing the industry institute relations that MSEC has been able to commercialize a variety of products such as VLSI design software, silk reeling machine and E-learning software are the three major products that have been commercialized under industry-institute relations.
VTU has recognized MSEC as the nodal center under Mission VTU Empower 10000 program and through this initiative students are trained as per the industry requirements and have been placed in core companies. Every year, more than 120 students get trained on the industry skills during their third year under the Infosys Campus Connect program and the students. Through this program students are being prepared for campus selection.
MSEC has signed strategic MoUs with Infosys, Wipro, Tiny Chips, Renewable Energy systems, iCarnegie, National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) and other corporate companies to guide their students to become leaders through a variety of fruitful interactions.
Academic Resources:
The MSEC Library is a resource centre for teaching, learning and research. It has been setup as the center of all academic activities. It plays a proactive role in enabling access to information resources of all kind and providing innovative responsive and effective services to meet the changing need of the academic community. The library holds a collection of 18000 books printed books as well as electronic resources which includes Books, Journals, Databases, Audio-Visuals, CD's /DVD's E-Journals, Project Reports. The library also holds an Institution Membership of IEEE Journals, Delnet, British Library Institution Membership.
A well furnished auditorium which can accommodate more than 300 students has been built by MSEC. The auditorium is routinely used for guest lectures, technical seminars, pre-placement training and extra-curricular activities.
Faculty:
MSEC has ensured to recruit faculty members who possess rich academic and industry experience. At present, there are 15 PhD faculty members with an average of 5 years of teaching experience. While 27 of the faculty members are pursuing PhDs, the institute has ensured that at least 12 of them have rich industry experience. MSEC has ensured that every department has faculty members with industry and academic background.
The faculty members at the institute are involved in consultancy work with top MNCs, offer corporate training programs; execute research projects in association with DRDO/ISRO and other R&D organizations. Some of the faculty members have collaborated with international universities in Canada, Australia and Singapore and are involved in collaborative research projects. IRP cell and patent filing cell are actively coordinated by faculty members. A few distinguished faculty members have been invited to deliver expert lectures and workshops all over India in niche areas of engineering discipline.

The placement and training cell is headed by Prof. Dinesh Pandey to provide students with opportunities to improve their communication skills and also to get recruited by some of the best names in the industry.
Sports and Cultural Activities:
The students are encouraged to choose any game of their interest and are also provided adequate coaching for the same by the respective coaches. MSEC has ensured that for the overall development of the students, indoor & outdoor sports facilities are also provided. Students can play outdoor games such as Basket Ball, Volley Ball, Cricket and Hand Ball. Those students who prefer to take part in indoor sports activities can play games such as Table Tennis, Carrom and Chess.
As engineering is a very technical and difficult discipline to master, MSEC has setup a Gym and Fitness Center facilities for the students to de-stress. The institute has provided the gym with all the latest equipment and it is open to students in the morning and evening hours. Yoga sessions are conducted for students to help them maintain both Healthy Mind and Body.
Dr. Sreerama Reddy G M, Principal
He is currently the Principal of MS Engineering College and prior to this held various teaching posts at various engineering colleges in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. After completing his Bachelors in Engineering, he went on to pursue his Masters in Technology. He followed his academic pursuit further by obtaining a PhD in Electronics and a Masters in Computers Applications.
