In the year 1997, the Prestige Education Society, Indore established the Prestige Institute of Management with an objective to meet the widely felt need for globally oriented Management and Information Technology education and training for professionals. The institute has set its mission- to provide quality education by innovating and continuously improving upon the disciplines of Management and Computer Applications through advanced methods of training, meaningful research and intimate relations with industry, business and other institutions in the country and abroad.

The Institute established National Research Methodology Workshops that emphasize on the research methodology processes including finer nuances of different methods of conducting research. The success of these workshops can be seen almost every year as at least 100 research papers written by the faculty are published in the National and International refereed journals. There are a number of publications where the students of Prestige Institute of Management have been named as co-authors as they have done the research alongside the faculty members. By providing such opportunities, students at the institute have been able to gain a better insight and understanding of the corporate world. The students are also able to develop on various skill sets such as team work, analytical thinking and presentation skills.

Prestige Institute of Management has ensured that its students and faculty members have the best of the best facilities such as a state of the art computer lab and a big library. The computer lab consists of 300 computers with access to various Microsoft products through the Microsoft Academic Alliance. The institute also has wireless access points to provide wireless connectivity.
Prestige Institute of Management has also built a spacious library which houses more than 14,000 books and reports on a large variety of Management, Information Technology and allied subjects. The library has a journal section and has subscribed to 80 research journals including foreign journals. While the Institute has also subscribed to Ebsco host to provide 2300 International journals, the library has an Audio Visual Section with a large number of audiovisual cassettes and CDs. The institute is making continuous efforts in acquiring the latest films, both Indian as well as foreign, in the area of Management and Information Technology as they believe this method helps in teaching more effectively.
The faculty members, most of whom have doctoral degrees and others on the verge of receiving it, utilize various pedagogies to teach the students and enhance the learning experience. Through their research experiences, they are able to help students develop shared vision which will enhance the team work between them.
