With the objective to meet the growing demands of man power in the emerging fields of Engineering and Technology, and with a close social and Industrial interface, over a period of time Prince Shri Venkateshwara Padmavathy Engineering College (PSVPEC) has carved a niche for itself nationally for excellence in Technical education. PSVPEC provides the necessary infrastructure for a high quality technical education. "As the majority of the students come from rural background, they are not strong in their skills, especially in English communication. Understanding the importance of developing an effective technical communication skill to enhance students' employability, we give training in English and Aptitude skills from the first year onwards and faculty members from English, Maths and Computer departments lead these initiatives,"says Dr. K. Vasudevan, Chairman, Prince Group of Institutions.
The institution has an active placement cell to facilitate campus recruitment and to organize various activities that will help the student to develop a better personality. PSVPEC has tie-ups with KAAR Technologies, TCS, KONE,SAP and many more. "The joint ventures with such organizations facilitate the students as well as the faculty to keep up with the latest technologies in their chosen field of studies. In order to update the students and staff about industry trends, we regularly invite industry experts to the campus for interactions," adds Dr. Vasudevan.
PSVPEC provides the necessary infrastructure for a high quality technical education
The institute gives the students the opportunity for in-plant training in each semester. "We prepare our students to be job ready from the first day of their joining. We achieve 80 percent placements every year with the packages ranging between Rs. 3 to 7 lakhs per annum," says SriSainath R, Placement Officer, PSVPEC.
The college is currently striving on the curriculum modifications and looks ahead to promote it to the next level. Incorporating an outcome based learning, which includes intensive self-study components, mini projects and add-on courses help students to take up new projects. The college also prioritizes on research. Dr. T. Soundararajan, Principal, PSVPEC says, "Practical is more important than Theory. The staff and students are encouraged to do innovative projects and research,"
The college got a reputation in the area for the quality of the students. With the peaceful environment with high-end personal computers with internet connectivity, the college provides the best atmosphere for learning. "We provide all students with personal growth opportunities inside and outside the classroom. Our students participate in extracurricular activities, which help them to build essential life skills such as self-confidence, self-respect and leadership," Opines Dr. Vasudevan. The college has collaborative tie-ups with Wadhwani Foundations, a National Entrepreneurship Network and Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII). "Our students are successfully running business in chrysanthemum Air purification system, Car parking controlling system and many more. The college is striving towards 100 percent placement and bringing forth more entrepreneurs," claims Dr. Vasudevan.

Taking regular classes to the next level with practical experience, Prince Dr. K. Vasudevan College of Engineering and Technology (PDKV) has established many laboratories like Communication skills lab, VLSI lab and Compiler Design lab in the campus. The students are involved in projects and PDKV faculty members motivate students to design their future, fostering student development, synergizing knowledge and practice. With a focus in the field of engineering and technology, the institute places great emphasis on the development of good communication skill. "Our faculty members help the students to improve their knowledge and they will encourage the weaker students to get good marks. We also organize regular seminars and workshops in order to encourage the students," says Vice Chairman Dr.V.Vishnu Karthik
By motivating, the students are able to understand the subjects more comprehensively, and it makes them curios about their subjects and drives them. As faculty members are the facilitators of transformation, PDKV gives importance to improve faculty expertise to handle specific courses with confidence. "We have 138 full time faculties and 15 full time faculties with Ph.D. Our faculty member contributed books, articles and papers," adds Dr. Vishnu Karthi

With regular national and international seminars, conferences and workshops, PDKV ensures that the students and the faculty remain focused. The seminar and conferences help the faculty and students collect more information on several important issues related to the field of engineering. Research activities in the institution are encouraged by the faculty members by indulging in the projects that the students are involved in and by motivating them to believe the ideas and concepts. The faculty member of PDKV being well versed in their fields of expertise, encourage the students in developing their efficiency, maintain a balance between theory and practical study associated with concepts.
The college provides online courses, training programs, group discussions to enhance students' skills. The institution also provides coaching sessions for competitive exams like UPSC and GATE. "We possess right facilities and providing help to the students for their growth. A separate training and placement cell invites various companies in all branches of engineering, providing successful engineering graduates to various organizations in the placement drives. They organize a number of training programs for the students of all the semesters. "Our students are engaged with activities like industrial visit, internship and guest lectures.
