It is a mere example to show how RNSIT has become one of the most preferred engineering institutes for students as well as corporate giants in a short span of time.
Active Training and Placement Cell
The growth that RNSIT has achieved within a span of around 13 years is truly spectacular. It has been rated among the top 10 Engineering Institutions in Karnataka out of around 200 plus colleges affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. One of the strong bodies behind this achievement is an independent, self-sufficient Training and Placement cell, which has been functioning in the institute since 2002-2003. This cell enhances the employability of the students by conducting specialized training in mathematical ability, aptitude skills, analytical skills, language skills, soft skills, technical skills, mock GD and technical interviews. The Placement report of RNSIT shows the direct reflection of this approach as the institute has achieved more than 90 percent placements every year and is barging towards 100 percent.
The Training and Placement Cell is supported with extravaganza infrastructure such as air-conditioned 200-seat seminar hall, a 400-seat seminar cum testing hall with modern electronic teaching aids like LCD projector, smart classrooms, virtual/online classes, wireless internet service, computer support and many more. The two seminar halls can provide parallel aptitude/technical test conduction-facility for at least 600 students at a time. The centre also houses independent interview rooms as well as group discussion rooms for the visiting panel / HR Managers of the corporate world.
However, the management states that there is no secret behind their success and all they have been doing was enforcing the discipline at all levels of education, which is lacking in our postmodern engineering colleges. "We keep everything transparent to our students. Our focus is always on completing 100 percent syllabus in each subject and providing more than 20 percent of knowledge beyond syllabus," says Dr. Shivashankar.
In order to give good basics and fundamentals, go beyond what the curriculum describes and to provide the 20 percent of extra knowledge, the institute had tied – up with many corporate companies and training centers in Bangalore. The placement cell has established MoU's with reputed online test providers like Aspiring Minds (AMCAT), Olive Board, Monstercollege, Cocubes, Wipro Mission R & D and many more. The firms provide extensive training as well as a recruitment opportunity in premier companies. The college has also established a good understanding with top companies like Infosys - Campus Connect, Wipro - Jump Start - II and Accenture -Head Start Foundation programs for student development activities. Placement cell organizes industrial training sessions for the placed students just before they join the respective industry, so that they have a better focus of career orientation.
The quality of any academic institution depends on the cross product of knowledge and experience that the faculties possess. Accordingly, the management has created ample environment for the teachers by encouraging them to undertake research activities and to improve qualifications. The institute has the least attrition rate, which is below five percent which speaks about the excellent working environment. Apart from teaching, the faculties are also responsible for monitoring and counseling the students. This helps the students indifferent levels of academic abilities.

At RNSIT, presently he is the director and brought up this institution serving around 11 years and as principal for 5 years.
