SmartEdu: Weaving Better India with Better Training
The number of students appearing for IIT-JEE in 2015 is approximately 13 Lakhs and this number increases every year. With the increase in the number of students, the number of coaching centres has also increased in a similar manner. This leads to a competitive platform for the coaching centres to be the best of all. One such coaching institute is SmartEdu. With many interests and hobbies in his bag, K K Anand an engineer by educational qualification founded this coaching Institute in Chennai. "Anand sir's classes have always had a profound impact on me due to his unique method of teaching. His way of treating advanced concepts as a consequence of several simpler and basic concepts, gave me a better grasp of various concepts," says Karthik Ramanathan, student of SMART, IIT-JEE AIR 560; BITSAT Tamil Nadu Topper 426/450; AIEEE State Rank 9.
In 2004, K K Anand, Director, SmartEdu established the institute SMART (Science and Mathematics Academy for the Real Talents) with a vision to facilitate students to pursue higher education in Engineering & Medicine. It prepares students for IIT JEE, BITSAT, AIIMS, JIPMER and various Olympiads with interesting and enjoyable modes of learning for classes right from Std I to Std XII. The course structure is crafted with a comprehensive coverage of the curriculum required in the entrance exams. Commencement and completion of the course is given adequate importance to have a well balanced course pace avoiding any rush before the exam schedules. The institute believes in imparting an inimitable style of teaching, in-depth analysis of concepts and thoroughness in the coverage of various aspects of chapters. Detailed discussions of assignments, conceptual clarity and exhaustive problem solving techniques are accentuated more. A coaching institute with a large number of grilling quality tests with greater frequency, easily directed course materials and impeccable guidance are one of best features of this institute.
With strength of 25, both as full time and part time faculty members, the institute keeps a keen eye on having teachers with great aptitude in making the students take interest in learning. The institute believes in inculcating a friendly rapport between the student and the teacher, and giving time to the students to adapt themselves with the concepts according to their understanding level. Along with the current available programs, SmartEdu has also come up with video tutorials as a supplement to the live classroom programs. The lectures are also made available in a new e-commerce portal for anyone to access.
Having no idea about the market of coaching centre's being as lucrative initially, Anand with a considerable experience now still believes in building the educational part of the institute more than commercializing the same. "With a humble contribution of SMART towards the educational growth of India, which as such is of paramount importance to the overall growth of the country," concludes Anand.
