DTU Launches Executive Courses in Clean Energy, Sustainability

Delhi Technological University launches two six-month executive programmes in renewable energy and corporate sustainability, enabling working professionals to build industry-ready skills through blended learning and campus immersion.

In addition to its existing programs, Delhi Technological University (DTU) has introduced two new executive courses related to renewable energy and corporate sustainability, emphasizing DTU’s dedication to lifelong learning and industry-focused education. These courses have been developed to cater to professionals aspiring to develop their knowledge in the areas of clean energy, ESG, and sustainable business management.

There have been two new programmes launched by the university, namely, the Advanced Programme in Renewable & Sustainable Energy Management and the Leadership Programme in CSR, ESG & Corporate Sustainability from its Centre for Technology Enhanced Learning (CTEL), in partnership with the edtech platform VCNow. Both these six-month programmes are based on the concept of blended learning, which consists of live online classes held on Sundays, three-day residential programme at DTU, six modules, and a capstone project, thereby enabling participants to implement the classroom learnings in practical business problems.

The  university claims that among the participants in this first batch are people from India, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates. This shows the attractiveness of the programs in an international setting. The learners taking part in the study program in renewable energy will get a chance to experience the DTU Nodal Centre of Excellence in Energy Transition (NCEET) and the Yogi Goswami Clean Energy Laboratory.

According to DTU’s vice-chancellor Dr. Prateek Sharma, “These courses fit well with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 because they focus on continuous learning and give professionals the required competency for the industry.” He emphasizes that executive education is essential to help professionals stay updated as industries like renewable energy and climate change become more dynamic.

The syllabus covers issues pertaining to renewable energy technologies, energy transition, ESGs, corporate social responsibility, sustainability reporting, project management, and leadership development. Using cases, simulations, and interactions with faculty and industry experts, the participants are expected to gain skills and expertise that can be applied in their organizations.

As the efforts of government and companies towards investments in the clean energy sector and sustainability have increased, the executive courses offered by DTU are designed to fill the widening skill gap in these areas. By integrating academic knowledge and flexible blended learning approaches, DTU hopes to groom professionals who can play a leadership role in renewable energy, sustainability in companies, and sustainable business transformations driven by ESG principles.
