JMI Opens Admissions for 49 Online and Distance Courses

Jamia Millia Islamia begins admissions for 49 distance and online programmes for the 2026–27 academic session. Applications are open until August 10, with new online courses and entrance-based admissions for select programmes.

Admissions have been initiated by Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) in 49 distance and online courses being provided by its Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) for the academic year 2026-27. Students who qualify can apply to these courses through an online application form on the admission portal of the university before August 10, 2026. The courses have been provided in the mode of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online Learning (OL).

In this year, JMI has added to its list of academic courses by adding two new online courses, namely Bachelor of Science (Biosciences) and Master of Business Administration (MBA). Admission to these new online courses shall be based on the merit of the candidates in the qualifying examination, followed by an interview.

There is a large selection of programs offered at the level of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, advanced diploma, and certificate courses in the university. Popular postgraduate courses include M.A. courses in English, Hindi, History, Political Science, Sociology, Geography, Public Administration, Education, Islamic Studies, Human Resource Management, and Urdu, and M.Com. and MBA (ODL). Some of the courses offered at the undergraduate level include B.A. (General), B.Com., and BBA. Diploma and certificate courses include Guidance and Counselling, Early Childhood Care and Education, Educational Media Production, Mass Media, Information Technology, and Computer Hardware and Network Technology.

Admissions to various undergraduate, graduate, diploma, and certificate courses will be made depending upon the performance in the qualifying test. However, students aspiring to join the MBA (ODL) and B.Ed. courses must sit for the entrance test to be held on August 22, 2026, at the Jamia Millia Islamia campus. The venue and time of the test will be notified by means of admit cards.

After the shortlisting process, candidates are informed about the admission via their email address and details of physical document verification process. Document verification and fee payment process shall be conducted during the period from August 31 to September 10, 2026.
