Education Department Issues Guidelines for Effective Pre-School Education

The state school education department has issued directives to ensure the effective implementation of the 'pre-school readiness campaign' for children entering Class 1 in the upcoming academic year 2024-25. It has instructed teachers, Anganwadi workers, and volunteers to actively participate in this initiative.

According to information provided by the state school education department, one-day training sessions will be organized at the state level based on a specified plan. The participants for district-level training will be invited through a designated link. These training sessions will be conducted online via Zoom from 10 am to 2 pm, with the training link shared separately on a WhatsApp group.

"District-level one-day training will be conducted by the principal, DIET, as per the schedule. Similarly, training sessions should be organized at the taluka level by the principal, DIET, in coordination with the respective group education officer and child development project officer. Individuals trained at the district level will serve as expert guides and facilitators at the taluka level," stated Kiran Pande, state deputy education officer.

A central-level education conference is scheduled for April 13, 2024. Trained individuals from the taluka level will serve as expert guides/facilitators for this central-level training. "Arrangements for organizing meetings should be communicated to the supervisory authorities and schools. Group education officers and child development project officers should convene meetings with all education extension officers, center heads, and Anganwadi supervisors to plan school-level meetings 1 and 2," added Pande.

These meetings are to be conducted during regular school hours, with a duration of approximately four hours. Emphasis should be placed on maintaining cleanliness in school premises to create a pleasant and healthy environment. The education department has also stressed the importance of ensuring the participation of all eligible Class 1 children and their parents in these meetings.
