- AI agents will assist students with personalized learning, skill development, and career pathway recommendations.
- Collaboration aims to bridge education, industry needs, and enhance job market readiness for graduates.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the UAE (MoHESR) recently declared a new partnership involving Microsoft in developing sophisticated artificial intelligence (AI) agents geared toward assisting university students in creating a customized education system and enhancing their professional possibilities.
The partnership involves applying Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing as well as AI technology in developing as well as testing prototype AI agents, focusing on crucial areas in higher education while meeting the comprehensive ambitions of the UAE. The partnership was formed on the sidelines of the World Government Summit 2026, held in Dubai.
As a result of the initiative, four different AI agents will be created to help address different aspects of student engagement, including lifelong learning and skills development, a personal learning agent, a faculty enablement agent, and a research mission alignment agent.
For instance, a lifelong learning agent is planned to help students undertake the most sought-after skills to acquire their career goals, a personal learning agent to offer personalized support to students, a faculty agent to aid every faculty member in updating their courses to match industry credentials, and a research agent to help students map their research to the national agenda.

The process, it is stated, would involve a participatory design process to allow input from various stakeholders, such as faculty, students, and industry, to create more effective uses of AI in the UAE.
The officials at MoHESR were keen to stress the importance of such public-private partnerships in establishing the UAE as the innovation and advanced knowledge hub that it aspires to be.
The Microsoft officials were eager to stress the potential of the agentic AI to revolutionize the education sector by providing innovative and student-centric experiences while preparing the young minds for the future job market and the knowledge economy that awaits them.
Leveraging cutting-edge AI tools, the collaboration aims to assist students in progressing through their studies, making informed decisions about their careers, and relating their academic accomplishments to gainful employment in a rapidly shifting global landscape.
