IIT Madras Offers 7-Month AI, Deep Learning Certificate Course

The IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation has unveiled the Advanced Certificate in Applied Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning. The program includes an extensive, practical curriculum aimed at providing professionals with advanced expertise in machine learning, deep learning frameworks, data analysis, and new AI technologies.

According to the announced dates, the program is set to start on September 13, 2025, and the deadline for online applications is September 6.

The 7-month, LIVE online program, offered in partnership with TimesPro, aims to meet the increasing need for AI-savvy professionals capable of fostering innovation, enhancing operations, and developing intelligent systems in various industries.

A key feature of the program is the incorporation of a focused month-long capstone project, enabling students to utilize theoretical knowledge for practical problem-solving with structured, image, or text data.

The IITM Pravartak initiative is set to tackle this important talent gap with a curriculum based on statistical reasoning, ML/DL algorithms, LLMOps, generative AI, and cybersecurity applications.

The program consists of nine comprehensive modules, covering Python for Data Science, Probability & Statistics, Machine Learning, Foundations of Deep Learning, Applications of AI, and a capstone project that emphasizes complete AI workflows.

The program is available to graduates and postgraduates in engineering, mathematics, or computational sciences, along with professionals aiming to shift into AI positions or enhance their careers with relevant analytical skills.

Students may also investigate job possibilities in positions such as data scientist, ML engineer, data analyst, AI/ML research scientist, business intelligence analyst, deep learning engineer, and quantitative analyst, among other roles.

The program, offered through Direct-to-Direct (D2D) Mode, features engaging online sessions led by esteemed faculty from IIT Madras and leading professionals from the industry, enhanced by webinars, assignments, and an optional campus experience at the IIT Madras Research Park. Learners who succeed will receive a Certificate of Completion from IITM Pravartak, the Technology Innovation Hub of IIT Madras.
