The first step to building your foundation is giving yourself enough exposure on what is happening around you. The world doesn't end at your neighborhood, nor does it end with your country. Using apps like Flipboard, Pinterest, YouTube or Instagram will help you keep updated with the current affairs of your interests. Consume as much content as you can take but put a filter on all that consumption! Take in what's good and leave the residue behind. This might seem trickier than it actually is in the beginning- how will you know what to take and what to ignore. Do trust the experts! Follow top reviewers, top design critics, You Tubers and so on to get an idea of what's hot and what's not! Knowledge is something that can never have a closure. Learn about the industry, its people, trends and rules. Recently I was shocked when someone who introduced himself as a graphic designer couldn't name (not even) one graphic design trend. Keep striving as this is a highly competitive world we are living in, which will not stop or slow down for one person. Learn to love the whole process and not just the output.

The future of media in India is really bright with a lot of Multi-national media companies trying to launch their operations in India. Social Media and Cloud Entertainment user base is increasing day by day creating job opportunities in every single stream of multimedia. Netflix and Amazon are investing a lot on original Indian content. Facebook and YouTube are becoming the most happening platforms for promotions. Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality are the other two majorly upcoming technologies in Media. Mobile users and digital content consumers will be also be increasing by another 20 percent in 2019.
