IGNOU Opens Jan 2026 Re-Registration for ODL, Online

  • IGNOU re-registration for January 2026 started; deadline is January 15, 2026.
  • Students must select correct courses, update details, and pay fees online.
  • Keep confirmation and receipt; avoid last-minute submission to prevent portal issues.

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has started the re-registration period for the January 2026 academic term. The portal was launched on December 1, 2025, for all students registered in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online courses.

Students can now submit their applications on the official website, ignou.ac.in. The final deadline to finish the process is January 15, 2026.

Students can sign in to modify their information, select courses, and pay the necessary fee for the upcoming semester or year. The university has announced that all current students who want to continue their programs in the next cycle must re-register. An official statement indicates that choosing the wrong courses might result in delays to the academic timetable.

IGNOU has instructed students to conduct payments exclusively through the authorized online methods—debit or credit cards, net banking, or UPI. If a payment is late, students are recommended to hold on before attempting again. In the event of a double payment, one payment will be returned automatically.

The re-registration form can be accessed on the official website at ignou.samarth.edu.in. Learners can finish the procedure by following these steps:

- Go to ignou.ac.in and click on the re-registration option found under “Register Online.”

- Review all guidelines on the portal.

- Access your account with the necessary credentials and complete the personal information along with the chosen courses.

- Upload documents, if necessary, and complete the payment.

- Review the form, submit it, and save the confirmation page along with the receipt.

The university has advised students not to wait until the final day, as significant traffic on the portal could lead to technical problems. Upon submitting the form, students are advised to keep the confirmation page and payment receipt for later use. Students enrolled in the International Division may also submit their applications online, utilizing the payment methods offered in their area. They must adhere to the same procedures as local students.
