India Post GDS Recruitment 2026: 28,740 Vacancies Out

The Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Recruitment 2026 notification is published by the Postal Circle /Department of Posts, Government of India, for recruiting 28,740 GDS Jobs across all the states of India. The Recruitment process to recruit GDS,  BPM and ABPM across all the states in the country through 23 Postal Circles/State Post Office into 23 different Postal Circles.

Once the Registration will open to the eligible candidates, they can apply and register themselves online through the official website of indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.

You can begin applying online on January 31, 2026, which will have an end date of February 14, 2026, (with applicants required to pay any fees by 5pm on February 16, 2026).

During the correction window, applicants will also have the ability to make corrections to their submitted application by submitting corrections between February 18 and February 19, 2026.

The selection for these positions will be strictly merit-based, and no written test or interview will be held. The eligibility criteria for selection include passing Class 10 from a recognized board, being between 18 and 40 years of age, and having basic knowledge of the local language of the postal circle for which the candidate is applying.

The recruitment campaign presents an attractive employment opportunity for young job seekers who have finished their secondary education and are seeking stable government jobs. The salary scale for GDS/ABPM posts usually ranges between ₹10,000 and ₹24,470 per month, while BPM posts range between ₹12,000 and ₹29,380 per month, depending on the location of the posting.

Once the application process closes, the first merit list of shortlisted candidates is expected to be released on February 28, 2026. The shortlisted candidates will then be invited for document verification, which will be the final step before being hired for these posts in the postal department.
