The Karnataka Vocational Training and Skill Development Corporation (KVTSDC) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Deutsche Fachkräfteagentur für Gesundheits- und Pflegeberufe GmbH (DeFa) to establish a new telc German language testing center in Bengaluru.
The initiative seeks to simplify the career path for nursing and healthcare workers from the state who wish to obtain jobs in Germany. The testing center is situated at the Karnataka German Technical Training Institute (KGTTI), Peenya, on the north-western fringes of Bengaluru. KVTSDC has commenced the shortlisting of candidates, primarily nurses, who will undergo organized German language instruction to facilitate their relocation for professional positions in Germany.
DeFa, created by the German Federal Ministry of Health, is essential in attracting international healthcare professionals. telc (The European Language Certificates) assessments align with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and offer internationally acknowledged certification for education, employment, and residence in Germany.
Dr Sharanprakash R Patil, Minister for Skill Development and Medical Education, said, “This programme will help healthcare and nursing professionals across Karnataka meet the linguistic standards essential for employment in Germany, where B2-level German proficiency is mandatory for registered nurses.”
