France Targets 30,000 Indian Students by 2030 Expansion

French President Emmanuel Macron announced during his visit to India that France plans to establish 30000 Indian student arrivals by 2030 as part of the countries' academic cooperation efforts.
The target which was first announced in 2023 shows a major increase from the current annual French university admissions of approximately 10000 Indian students and supports the people-to-people cooperation program which forms part of the India-France strategic partnership.
Macron confirmed France's dedication to enhancing its higher education system for Indian students during the Indo-French Centre for AI in Health opening at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi.
He described current work which improves visa processes and administrative system operations to create better support for students who need long-term academic stays during their PhD studies.
The French Embassy has implemented measures which include a five-year short-stay Schengen visa and international classes that provide intensive French language training with academic university preparation to achieve this objective.

The implemented measures will eliminate language obstacles which prevent students from accessing French higher education programs that include English-language courses.
Macron described France's ambitions to draw additional Indian students while establishing French student mobility to India for academic exchange.
The Indo-French Centre for AI in Health established through a partnership between Sorbonne University and Paris Brain Institute and IIT Delhi will support research across multiple disciplines that study brain health and healthcare advancements.
The two countries expanded their educational partnership which includes student mobility programs because India and France developed their diplomatic relations into a Special Global Strategic Partnership.
