Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has opened applications for a fresh batch of short-term skill-based courses focused on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, the university announced on Friday. The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at JMI has launched this initiative to strengthen digital capabilities among youth, job seekers, and aspiring entrepreneurs amid rapid technological change.
These programmes are offered through the Smart Academy for Digital Technologies and Entrepreneurship, established in collaboration with the Tech Mahindra Foundation. This partnership aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical industry skills by combining classroom learning with hands-on applied training. Participants will also receive insights from industry experts, helping them become more competitive in today’s job market or pursue self-employment and startup opportunities.
The current suite of skill-based courses includes Digital Entrepreneurship, UI/UX Design, Advanced Digital Marketing, and AI-Driven Data Analysis. Each of these programmes spans a three-month duration and is accessible to candidates who have completed Class 12 or an equivalent qualification. The courses are conducted in offline mode on the university campus to ensure direct engagement with instructors and peers.

The fee structure varies across programmes, with Digital Entrepreneurship priced at ₹3,050, while UI/UX Design is set at ₹12,600. Both Advanced Digital Marketing and AI-Driven Data Analysis are available for ₹10,500 each. These fees reflect the university’s effort to make skill development programmes affordable while delivering industry-aligned training.
According to the official statement, the initiative is designed to equip learners with practical skills relevant to sectors such as digital media, data analytics, user-centric design, and technology-enabled services. Beyond just enhancing employment prospects, JMI hopes the programmes will encourage innovation, self-reliance, and participation in India’s rapidly expanding digital ecosystem.
